The Gain sets the intensity, while the Character control lets you move from clean, subtle enhancement to a more colored, forward tone with extra attitude. Instead of locking you into a single “tube” or “solid-state” sound, it lets you morph between both, giving you a balance of harmonics. It models the subtle “memory” of analog circuits where the sound isn’t just reacting instantly, but gently shaped by what came before adding a more natural, flowing feel to the harmonics.
