Getting started

What is Anagram Reviews?

A community site where players rate and review the blocks available for the Darkglass Anagram: everything on the Anagram Marketplace plus the firmware blocks built into the unit. The goal is to help you figure out which blocks are worth it before you buy.

This is an independent fan site. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Darkglass Electronics.

Do I need an account?

Not to browse. Anyone can read reviews, watch videos, and look through the Wish List. You'll need to log in to leave a review, like or reply to a review, follow a block, add or vote on a wish, or send a message.

How do I log in?

Click Log in at the top of any page. You have three choices:

  • Continue with Google
  • Continue with Facebook
  • Your username or email and a password, using an Anagram Reviews account of its own. Create one here; we'll email you a link to confirm your address.

If they share the same email address, they all open the same account. The privacy policy lists exactly what the site receives.

Can I use the site without Google or Facebook?

Yes. Create an account with a username, your email, and a password. It's completely separate from Google and Facebook. Your email is never shown publicly; it's only used to confirm your account and to reset your password if you forget it.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the log in page, click Forgot password? and enter your email. We'll send a link to choose a new one. The link works for an hour.

Can I add a password or connect Google/Facebook to my account?

Yes. Click Account at the top of the page. From there you can add or change a password, pick a username, and connect or disconnect Google and Facebook. You just need to keep at least one way to log in.

Reviews

How do I post a review?
  1. Log in, then open any block (from All Blocks or the home page).
  2. Scroll to Community Reviews and find the Leave a Review box.
  3. Pick a star rating (required), then check the instruments and genres you use it with.
  4. Write as much or as little as you like, then click Submit Review.

Tagging your instrument and genre is optional, but it's what lets someone with a rig like yours find your review.

Can I change or delete my review?

You can change it any time. Go back to the block and the box will say Update Your Review, with your current stars, tags, and text filled in. Edit, then click Update Review. You get one review per block, so updating replaces your old one.

To delete it, click Delete my review just below that box. Any likes and replies on it are removed too.

How do I see reviews from people who play what I play?

On a block's page, above the reviews, there's a row of instrument buttons (Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Double Bass, Synth / Keys, and so on). Click one to see only reviews tagged with that instrument. All shows everything again.

How do I like or reply to a review?

Under each review, click ๐Ÿ‘ to like it (click again to undo), or ๐Ÿ’ฌ Reply to answer it. The reviewer gets a notification either way, and your name shows in the list of people who liked it.

What is the "AI-generated summary" on some blocks?

Once a block has 5 or more reviews, the site writes a short summary of what reviewers agree and disagree on. It updates as new reviews come in. It's a starting point; the reviews themselves are the real source.

Following & notifications

How do I follow a block?

Log in, open the block, and click ๐Ÿ”• Follow under the price. It changes to ๐Ÿ”” Following, and you'll be notified whenever someone posts a new review of that block. Click it again to unfollow.

How do I see my notifications?

Click the ๐Ÿ”” at the top of the page. A number next to it means you have unread notifications. Opening the notifications page marks them as read, and clicking one takes you straight to the review or conversation.

What will I be notified about?
  • Someone likes or replies to your review
  • A block you follow gets a new review
  • A wish you follow changes status (for example, Wish Granted! ๐ŸŽ‰) or gets a new comment
  • You get a reply to a message you sent

These show under ๐Ÿ”” on the site. If you'd also like them by email, turn on the daily email on your Account page.

Can I get updates by email?

Yes, if you want them. On your Account page, check Send me a daily email and pick what to include: new reviews of blocks you follow, new blocks added to the Marketplace, new wishes on the Wish List, and your unread notifications. It comes once a day, around 7:30am Eastern, and only on days with something new. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

It's off unless you turn it on. Other than that, the site only emails you to confirm your address or reset a password you asked about.

Finding blocks

How do I search and filter blocks?

On All Blocks, search by name, vendor, category, or words in the description. Narrow it with the category, vendor, and price (Free Only / Paid Only) menus, and sort by name, โญ Top Rated, โœจ What's New, vendor, or price. The last menu switches between all blocks, Marketplace blocks only, firmware blocks only, and blocks with intro videos.

What does the FIRMWARE tag mean?

Firmware blocks are the ones Darkglass builds into the Anagram itself. They come free with the unit, so there's nothing to buy, but they're here so you can review and compare them alongside Marketplace blocks.

How current are the prices and descriptions?

Block names, prices, images, and descriptions come straight from the Anagram Marketplace and refresh twice a day. Prices are shown in euros as the Marketplace lists them. If anything looks wrong, let me know.

Buying blocks

How do I buy a block?

On a block's page, click Buy on Marketplace โ†’ (or Get Free on Marketplace โ†’ for free blocks). That opens the block on the official Darkglass Anagram Marketplace in a new tab, where you complete the purchase.

Does this site sell blocks or handle payments?

No. Every purchase happens on Darkglass's Marketplace. This site never sees your payment details, so questions about orders, downloads, licenses, or refunds go to Darkglass.

Videos

What are Intro Videos and Community Videos?

Introduction & Training Videos are hand-picked walkthroughs of a block. Blocks that have one show โ–ถ Intro Video on their card. Community Videos are demos submitted by members.

How do I share a video?

When you leave or update a review, paste a YouTube link in the video field and add a short description if you like. Videos are checked before they appear, so it may take a little while to show up on the block's page.

Wish List

What is the Wish List?

A public list of what players want: blocks that don't exist yet, and features for blocks that do. The most-voted wishes rise to the top, which makes a clear signal for anyone building blocks.

How do I add a wish?

Log in, go to the Wish List, and click + Add a Wish. Choose New Block Request or Feature Request for Existing Block (then pick the block), give it a title, and describe what you're after. You can delete your own wish later if you change your mind.

How do I vote or comment on a wish?

Click the โ–ฒ next to any wish to vote for it, and click it again to take your vote back. Open a wish to read the comments and add your own with Post Comment.

Posting, voting on, or commenting on a wish follows it, so you'll get a ๐Ÿ”” when its status changes or someone comments. Use the ๐Ÿ”” Following button on the wish to stop (or ๐Ÿ”• Follow to start without voting).

What do Open, In Progress, and Wish Granted mean?

Open means it's waiting for interest. In Progress means someone is working on it. Wish Granted! ๐ŸŽ‰ means it exists now.

Contact & your account

How do I get in touch?

Use the Contact page (you'll need to be logged in). Pick what it's about, write your message, and send. It's private between you and me, and you'll get a ๐Ÿ”” notification when I reply. Past conversations are listed on the same page.

Should I use the Wish List or send a message?

Use the Wish List for ideas you'd like others to vote on, like new blocks or features. Send a message for anything just between us: corrections, bugs, questions, or saying hi.

Are you a block developer?

If you make blocks for the Anagram Marketplace, send me a message and I'll set up a verified developer account for your company. Your replies to reviews of your blocks then show a Developer badge and stay visible under the review, you can add your own intro and training videos to your blocks, and you'll get a ๐Ÿ”” notification whenever one of your blocks gets a new review. (Developers can't review their own blocks.) Want your blocks' ratings on your own website? See For developers.

How do I delete my account or data?

Send me a message asking to delete your account, and I'll remove it and everything tied to it.
