Overview
Cognate Macro Synth is our homage to the Electro-Harmonix Bass Micro Synth, modelled from the pedal's
circuit: its sub-octave and octave-up voices, the square fuzz, the swept resonant filter, and the attack
detector that fires the sweep on every note. Like the original it has no pitch detector. The voices lock
straight to your strings, so slides, bends and ghost notes come through the instant you play them. Then it
goes further, with nine Wave Shapes including saw, PWM and a super-saw, three more filter Types (a
Moog-style ladder, an MS-20 and a vowel formant), and a Blend control to keep your clean bass
underneath.

Sounds really great, at no effort. It complements the Axioma very well, as it is a totally different approach. Very easy to get a huge funky sound. You need to read the manual to understand the different parameters.

Only just getting in to this fully, but so far it is awesome. Selectable wave shapes and a fully controllable filter make this really usable, dare I say more so than the Axiom? The tracking is excellent and the UI is clear, functional and responsive. Very impressive and well worth the money.
