Lonkero Granular Engine
About
Our Lonkero Granular Engine chops your sound into hundreds of tiny grains, then stretches and scatters them into shimmering clouds. It goes from a subtle aftertaste to a massive ambient cocktail, and it keeps everything smooth, with a splash of built-in reverb and levels that stay even however dense you go.
One sip and it’s all over you.
Controls
-
Mode:
I – Delay: Lonkero constantly records your playing and plays it back as a cloud of grains around the delay time. It’s a smeared, textured delay that can drift into ambience.
II – Layers: Lonkero captures up to four notes or chords, each on its own layer, which fade in and out on their own. Build pads and drones under your playing. -
Time: In Delay mode, the delay time, from 50 ms to 2 s. In Layers mode, how slowly each new layer swells in, from 10 ms to 3 s.
-
Size: The length of each grain. Short grains sound glitchy and granular; long grains smooth out into washes.
-
Overlap: How many grains play at once, from 1 to 30. Low settings give sparse, stuttering fragments; high settings give a thick, dense cloud.
-
Regen: In Delay mode, the feedback: how long the echoes keep coming back. In Layers mode, how long each layer takes to fade away. At 10, layers hold forever.
-
Pitch: Shifts the grains in musical steps: octaves, fifths and fourths, from an octave down to two octaves up. The grains speed up or slow down to change pitch, which gives a shimmery, organic pitch rather than a clean harmonizer. Use +12 for shimmer and −12 for a dark undertow.
-
Reverse: Plays every grain backwards, for swelling, reverse-tape textures.
-
Tone: Works like a guitar tone knob. At 10 it’s fully open, and turning it down darkens only the effect. Your dry signal is never filtered.
-
Mix: The balance between your dry signal and the Lonkero cloud.
-
Volume: Effect output level. 5 is unity gain.
-
Mono / Stereo: In Mono, one input feeds the same signal to both outputs. In Stereo, you get stereo in and out, with the grains scattered at random across the stereo field.
-
Trails: Sets what happens when you bypass. With Trails off, the effect stops and clears. With Trails on, the cloud keeps ringing out naturally while your dry signal passes through.
Plugins in trial mode provide 35 seconds of active performance, followed by a 5-second silent interval.
