About
Transparent Boost to Rich Overdrive
Spearion is a boost and overdrive inspired by the Klon Centaur, the germanium-diode circuit that turned “transparent” into a category of its own. It is modeled with Mercuriall's State-Spice analog circuit simulation technology, and the modeled topology includes the 1N34A germanium-diode behavior that gives the circuit its transition from clean enhancement to harmonically rich overdrive.
At lower gain settings, Spearion adds level, focus, and harmonic presence while leaving the core character of the instrument and amplifier intact. Turn the gain up and the overdrive becomes fuller and more textured, with the familiar midrange contour and controlled low end. On bass, that controlled low end is the whole point: Spearion adds presence and drive without the low-frequency collapse that mid-scooped overdrives cause.
The input level is calibrated to Anagram's input sensitivity, while the output level is calibrated to Mercuriall's amplifier models. This preserves realistic gain staging, letting the Level control boost or match the dry signal much as the physical pedal would in front of a real amplifier.
