About
Open, Amp-Like Overdrive
Open Drive is inspired by the Fulltone OCD, a modern overdrive known for combining pedal saturation with an open, amp-like response. It delivers a broad frequency range, strong pick dynamics, and enough gain to move from a punchy boost to thick rock distortion without losing definition.
Where mid-focused overdrives narrow the signal to push it through an amp, Open Drive keeps the low end broad and the attack immediate. Chords stay clear, single notes retain weight, and the amount of breakup follows the player's touch. That wide response is also what makes it the most bass-friendly drive in the Mercuriall collection: it saturates across the whole range rather than pulling everything into the midrange, so the fundamental stays where you put it.
Open Drive is modeled with Mercuriall's State-Spice analog circuit simulation technology. Its input level is calibrated to Anagram's input sensitivity and its output to Mercuriall's amplifier models, preserving realistic instrument-to-pedal-to-amp gain staging for natural boosting and level matching.
